Traction Catalyst
My passion for bringing Agile Practices to the workplace in large enterprises began in early 2007. As a co-founder of a small startup implementing a blockchain-based clearance & settlement system for wholesale mutual fund transactions, I found myself with a need to bridge the gap between two very different cultures.
On the one hand there is the demand that the environment of a very large global custodian has for certainty and predictability - executing according to a playbook - and on the other hand there is the way a high performing development team loves to work.
And Agile Practices seemed to offer the perfect mix of rigor and freedom and in adopting it we were pleased to discover - at least at the scale of a small startup - that agile allowed for both accountability AND creativity.
BOULD & FORGEYFast forward to late 2014… after participating and contributing in many implementations of Agile within large enterprises Scott Forgey and I became really interested in getting to the bottom of what’s in the way of the promise of Agile being realized at scale.
We founded our company (Bould & Forgey) and began to get to work inside of a critical Inquiry: What does it really take for the promise pf Agile to be realized at scale?
In introducing Playbooks & Pathways at AgileCamp 2016 we are sharing what we have uncovered that really works and where we are headed next
